What is the Webster Technique?

The Webster Technique is a specialized chiropractic analysis and adjustment that focuses on the alignment of the pelvis and the reduction of tension in the surrounding ligaments and muscles — particularly important during pregnancy.

Developed specifically for prenatal care, the Webster Technique helps to create balance in the pelvis, which may support optimal fetal positioning and reduce discomfort for the expecting mother. While not a technique to "turn breech babies," it does address the underlying structural imbalances that can contribute to positioning challenges.

Practical Understanding of the Webster Technique

A Two-Tiered Approach to Improving Birth

  1. Physically, the Webster Technique supports the neuro-biomechanics of the body by optimizing nervous system function and balancing the pelvic bones, muscles, and uterine ligaments. This approach respects the body’s inborn intelligence, allowing birth to unfold more smoothly and naturally.
  2. On the emotional side, the Webster Technique fosters trust, ease, and self-confidence. Families are empowered to actively participate in the birth process, learning to approach it with adaptability and a greater sense of coherence.
