Acupuncture

A Holistic Approach to Health & Wellness

Acupuncture is an ancient healing practice that originated in China over 2,500 years ago. It involves the insertion of thin, sterile needles into specific points on the body to promote natural healing and balance. Acupuncture is widely used to alleviate pain, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being.

How Acupuncture works

According to TCM

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the body has 14 channels also known as meridians which create an energy flow through the body.  Acupuncture is part of the ancient practice of traditional chinese medicine and this technique is used to balance the flow of energy. This energy is known as Qi (“chee”).  When there is a disruption of the flow of Qi it can lead to dis-ease. Acupuncture is performed through the stimulation of these points along the meridians with the use of thin needles. This can improve the flow of Qi which improves health by rebalancing the body.

According to Research

From a modern medical perspective, acupuncture is believed to stimulate nerves, muscles, and connective tissues, enhancing blood circulation and triggering the release of natural painkillers such as endorphins
